What was Sir Sean Connery most famous for?
 

On October 31st, 2020 acting legend Sir Sean Connery died peacefully at his home in the Bahamas aged 90. 

Tributes began flowing in from all around the world. 

And one tribute, in particular, got me thinking…

James Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said they were “devastated” by his death, pointing out he was the first-ever Bond.

“He was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words “The name’s Bond … James Bond.”

Sir Sean Connery was most famous for not just playing James Bond in a number of films.

He was most famous for being the FIRST actor ever to play James Bond in film.

Which leads me to a very obvious marketing question for your business.

What could your business become famous and well known for?

What could your business become famous and well known for? Even better, what were you the first to do? Without even realising you may have been the first business or person to create xyz product or to offer xyz service. Brainstorm with your team and you may discover a “first” in your industry or market. The next step is to scream it from the rooftops and use it in your marketing arsenal. It is amazing how many small businesses have these “firsts” or great achievements tucked away and nobody knows about them except the owner or some of the team.

And, if you cant think of any significant “firsts” then brainstorm for ideas to be the first in something.
