Business Success Thursday Volume 188! Money suffocates creativity!

Here is another extract from our upcoming book, The Premier Way!…

This is another important principle we must always remember and practice.

Use your head not your wallet! This is another quote you will hear a lot at PGNZ.

Our core value sums it up well: Do more with less.

But in the good times it is just so easy to get casual with your spending and the fat cat syndrome begins to creep in.

We tend to get lazy and to start using money to solve our problems.

Lean is all about doing more with less.

It is all about getting the maximum result from the minimum effort.

So we must always think about this principle and make the practice of it a habit day in and day out. In the good times and the bad.

We have endless examples in our business history where we have used money rather than our creative thinking to solve our problems.

In almost every situation this has resulted in more problems and even more money being spent.

We could probably write a book about the many times we have done this.

When we have a new problem now we say: Ok we have a zero dollar budget. So how are we going to solve this problem without spending any money? This is where we always begin.

Often a solution will require a little money to be spent, but we still challenge this as a team to ensure nothing is wasted.

We all know just how hard it is to make a profit. So we guard them jealously.

Profit is the result of excellent service and so much hard work. So the last thing we want to do is to spend it carelessly in the vain hope of solving a problem.

Take action: Do you live and breathe this principle at home and at work? Have you trained your family and friends to think this way? Are you getting better at doing more with less every day?

Are you using your morning meetings to discuss these important principles?

P.S. At Premier Business Academy we have tonnes of great resources to help you on this journey and support you along the way! Please feel free to email me back or go to: www.premierbusinessacademy.co.nz
