As we have discovered at PGNZ, social media is only one piece of the marketing puzzle.

A lot of small businesses get caught in the trap of thinking they can rely on social media for all their leads and business.

This is a very bad idea.

Social media is only a supplement to your marketing program.

For example you could spend an entire day writing 20 carefully worded posts on social media for zero tangible results.

On the other hand you can spend an entire day making sales calls on the phone which will give you actual, tangible results.

However you can use LinkedIn as a tool to help you position yourself as an authority in your industry.

It is also another cheap way to get your brand in front of a lot more potential customers.

I say cheap, not free, as the price you pay is your time.
You must be very disciplined with this technique.
Do not be sucked into the mindless vortex of your feed!
99% of users waste their life away consuming content instead of producing.
Be a producer!
Not a consumer!
This is a very very important rule to remember.
It is worth repeating:
Be a producer, not a consumer!
Block out just 15 mins per day in your diary and don’t bend the rules!
Here is a handy, daily guide:

• Crank out a post with a good tip, advice, article etc that will add value for your followers.
• Invite 10 people to connect. (Potential customers)
• Comment on a few relevant posts.
• Like as many relevant posts as you can.
• When your 15 mins is up, get on with your next goal for the day!

This is a very simplistic guide but like anything if you show up and do it daily, you will get better at it very quickly!

So, take action today: Make a start, using the rules above.
